Day 38 special -- Katyas´ 18th birthday

this is dedicated to Katya, Julia, Maxim, Maxim and Bogdan.

we would like to thank you again for this wonderful evening!

Yesterday evening, after we had 'camping-pasta-dinner' in our small tent-like wooden house, we were invited by our neighbours to join them for some drinks. when we arrived, we were warmly welcomed at their table (which was full of delicious homemade food by the way). the first thing Maxim and Bogdan did was singing a song for us! it was a song they used to sing with their parachute friends  -- both of them had a lot of experience with parachute jumps and skydiving. the most amazing about this song was the way they sang it -- enthusiastic and really really good.

we realised that these guys were so nice, open-minded, funny and so much interested in every detail. they asked a lot of questions about our trip, about the countries we have been travelled through, about official holidays in Germany, about life in Germany … they wanted to know how we like Ukraine food, how Robert likes Ukraine girls, if we already tried Marihuana (did we??? …) and why we wear the wedding ring on the right hand ... and so on …

most of the conversation was managed through Katya. She claimed her English wasn't good enough but in fact it was! she was doing the translation for all her friends who - for sure - also knew English very well but didn't dare to practice…

Katya told us she just registered for translation studies at university. and she was very eager to try out what she's learned already.

the most surprising for us was that Bogdan and Maxim had a present for us: they offered us a Talisman -- even this was a skydiving Talisman they handed it over with the intention that this may also protect us "motorbikers" …

it was great!! and we were deeply moved! …

we had a great evening! -- one more wonderful experience with Ukrainian people!

THANKS to all of you!

best wishes,

Friederike and Robert
